Detergent grade HEMC
Detergent grade HEMC Hydroxyethyl methylcellulose is an odorless, tasteless, non-toxic white powder that can be dissolved in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution. It has the characteristics of thickening, bonding, dispersion, emulsification, film formation, suspension, adsorption, gelation, surface activity, moisture retention and protective colloid. Since the aqueous solution has surface active function, it can be used as a protective colloid, emulsifier and dispersant. Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose aqueous solution has good hydrophilicity and is an efficient water retaining agent.
Detergent grade HEMC Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose is known as Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose(MHEC), It is prepared by introducing ethylene oxide substituents (MS 0.3~0.4) into methyl cellulose (MC). Its salt tolerance is better than that of unmodified polymers. The gel temperature of methyl cellulose is also higher than that of MC.
HEMC for detergent grade is a white or slightly yellow powder, and it is odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. It can dissolve in cold water and organic solvents to form a transparent viscous solution. The water liquid has surface activity, high transparency, and strong stability, and its dissolution in water is not affected by pH. It has thickening and anti-freezing effects in shampoos and shower gels, and has water retention and good film-forming properties for hair and skin. With the substantial increase in basic raw materials, the use of cellulose (antifreeze thickener) in shampoos and shower gels can greatly reduce costs and achieve desired results.
Product Features:
1. Solubility: soluble in water and some organic solvents. HEMC can be dissolved in cold water. Its highest concentration is only determined by the viscosity. The solubility changes with the viscosity. The lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility.
2. Salt resistance: HEMC products are non-ionic cellulose ethers and not polyelectrolytes. Therefore, when metal salts or organic electrolytes are present, they are relatively stable in aqueous solutions, but excessive addition of electrolytes can cause gels and precipitation.
3. Surface activity: As the aqueous solution has surface activity function, it can be used as a colloidal protective agent, emulsifier and dispersant.
4. Thermal gel: When the HEMC product aqueous solution is heated to a certain temperature, it becomes opaque, gels, and precipitates, but when it is continuously cooled, it returns to the original solution state, and this gel and precipitation occur The temperature mainly depends on their lubricants, suspending aids, protective colloids, emulsifiers and so on.
5. Metabolic inertness and low odor and fragrance: Because HEMC will not be metabolized and has low odor and fragrance, it is widely used in food and medicine.
6. Mildew resistance: HEMC has a relatively good antifungal ability and good viscosity stability during long-term storage.
7. PH stability: The viscosity of the HEMC product aqueous solution is hardly affected by acid or alkali, and the PH value is relatively stable within the range of 3.0-11.0.

Application range of daily chemical grade cellulose HEMC:
Used in shampoo, body wash, facial cleanser, lotion, cream, gel, toner, conditioner, styling products, toothpaste, mouthwash, toy bubble water.
The role of detergent grade cellulose HEMC:
In cosmetic applications, it is mainly used for cosmetic thickening, foaming, stable emulsification, dispersion, adhesion, film formation and improvement of water retention performance, high-viscosity products are used as thickening, and low-viscosity products are mainly used for suspension and dispersion. Film formation.
