Hydroxyethylcellulose HEC is a non-ionic water-soluble polymer that is soluble in both hot and cold water. Hydroxyethylcellulose series HEC has a wide range of viscosities, and the aqueous solutions are all non-Newtonian fluids.
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is an essential additive in daily chemical products. It can not only improve the viscosity of liquid or emulsion cosmetics, but also improve dispersion and foam stability.
advantage:
1.Has very good hydration.
2. Has a great consistency and fullness.
3. Excellent film-forming property.
4. It has extremely high cost performance.
5.It has an excellent degree of substitution to ensure the long-term anti-mildew stability of the product.
Polymerization degree:
There are three hydroxyl groups on each anhydroglucose unit in cellulose, which is treated with alkali in aqueous sodium hydroxide solution to obtain cellulose sodium salt, and then undergoes etherification reaction with ethylene oxide to form hydroxyethyl cellulose ether. In the process of synthesizing hydroxyethyl cellulose, ethylene oxide can replace the hydroxyl groups on the cellulose, and undergo a chain polymerization reaction with the hydroxyl groups in the substituted groups.
Hydroxyethylcellulose has very good hydration properties. Its aqueous solution is smooth and uniform, with good fluidity and leveling. Therefore, cosmetics containing hydroxyethyl cellulose have a good consistency and fullness in the container, and spread easily on the hair and skin when applied. Widely used in conditioners, body washes, liquid soaps, shaving gels and foams, toothpaste, solid antiperspirant deodorants, tissues (babies and adults), lubricating gels.
In addition to fluid control, hydroxyethyl cellulose has excellent film forming properties. The formed film is guaranteed to be in a complete state under 350x and 3500x mirror scanning, and it brings an excellent smooth skin feeling when applied to cosmetics.
