Surface treatment (not the so-called addition of other additives in ordinary grade cellulose ether), so as to adapt to the gypsum mortar system. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose ether with deep surface treatment can have stable dissolution time and good mechanical properties in gypsum mortar, and can significantly improve the leveling and finishing process of mortar.

Machine-sprayed gypsum mortar generally uses relatively low-viscosity hydroxypropyl methylcellulose ether between 20,000 and 75,000, and the addition amount is generally 0.2% to 0.4%.
