Points to note when purchasing redispersible latex powder!

Redispersible latex powder is a white solid powder obtained by spray-drying special latex. It is mainly used as an important additive for “dry-mixed mortar” and other dry-mixed mortars for external wall insulation engineering construction materials.

Pay attention to the following three points when purchasing redispersible latex powder:

1. Redissolvability: Putting poor-quality redispersible latex powder into cold water or alkaline water, only part of it will dissolve or even hardly dissolve;

2. Minimum film-forming temperature: After mixing and re-emulsifying the redispersible latex powder with water, it has similar properties to the original emulsion, that is, it will form a film after the water evaporates. The resulting film is highly flexible and adheres very well to a variety of substrates;

3. Glass transition temperature: Glass transition temperature is a very important indicator to measure the physical properties of redispersible latex powder. For specific products, the reasonable choice of glass transition temperature of redispersible latex powder is conducive to enhancing product flexibility and avoiding the substrate problems such as cracking.
